We believe that getting out into the community and bringing the community in helps us all to remember that learning does not just happen inside these four walls, but is happening all the time. We are grateful for the support of many parents and community organizations!

Jammie Speyer Yoga – Therapeutic Family Yoga Series
The Therapeutic Family Yoga Series (TFYS) is an 8 week yoga workshop for families with children ages 12 and younger and is done in partnership with The Patchwork School and the Louisville Family Center. The purpose of TFYS is to improve executive functioning and emotional regulation in children, while providing parents opportunities to build community, gain
resources, and positively model advocating for their own needs. TFYS uses yoga and other contemplative practices to calm the nervous system and regulate the breath. The program is grounded in current neuroscientific research that has found these practices have significant positive impacts on practitioners, both young and old, novice and expert. The format is inclusive, interactive, fun, and it meets each person where they are through
movement, song, chanting and much more! If you are interested in this FREE opportunity, please contact Jammie at jammiespeyeryoga@gmail.com by May 15th. Classes will be held on Tuesday evenings from 5pm – 6pm, June 4th – July 23rd at Pirates Park. Spots are limited so reserve yours now!
*This is a pilot program, and Jammie Speyer Yoga will be collecting data for an exploratory study on the efficacy of yoga and contemplative practices on the executive functioning and emotional regulation skills of children and their families.
Amp the Cause
We are so grateful for Amp the Cause, a community organization dedicated to lifting up local non-profits for kids. They have donated materials for our farm space and our outdoor play areas for multiple years!
Naropa University
We are honored to have Naropa students in the Master’s Programs for Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program carry out Practicums at our school. These students offer additional Social/Emotional supports for our students and staff, and we are excited to share with them the ways in which we are able to bring S/E well-being into the classroom in each and every moment of the day.
University of Colorado
We have often partnered with CU to offer students, usually from the CU INVST Community Studies Program, opportunities to learn about community leadership and the importance of Early Childhood Education.
As a professor at CU-Boulder, I love being a volunteer at Patchwork School. I’m impressed with their distinctive educational philosophy, and it’s clear that they are providing an environment where the children are growing socially and intellectually. And equally importantly, it’s clear that the children are really happy.

Balfour Senior Living
Offering children and seniors an opportunity to connect is such a joy given how often both age groups are segregated in our society. Each Halloween The Patchwork School visits Balfour for a Halloween parade where the seniors get to hand out (non-food) treats to the students and then we all sing some Halloween songs together. We’ve also collaborated for Valentine’s day and other holidays, as well.
